Amazon.com Flywheel is the first film from the creators of Facing the Giants and Fireproof. Used car salesman Jay Austin (writer/director Alex Kendrick) swindles his customers and teaches his assistant salesmen to do the same--but despite the profits, something gnaws at him. When he realizes that his own son doesn't respect him, Austin has a conversion and accepts God into his life. This would be the end of most spiritual stories, but Flywheel finds a warm comedy in the obstacles on the path of righteousness; Austin discovers that being right with God means grappling every day with what it means to be honest. Though the filmmaking is raw (the editing is often clumsy and the cinematography is flat), the story is well-paced, has a gently ironic sense of humor, and Kendrick's central performance is compelling. Kendrick is just as persuasive as a man struggling to emerge from a joyless life as he is when he's rediscovered his faith but finds it constantly tested. Though Flywheel is forthright about its Christian inspiration, the story is about actually living a moral life, not about abstract spiritual truths. The result is a movie that looks towards heaven, but has its feet on the earth. --Bret Fetzer

Excellent movie January 6, 2009 This is a very inspirational movie - the first one that a church put together that also produced "Facing the Giants" and "Fireproof". It talks about living for God in everything we do and the consequences of that. The director's cut helped the sound and color so it's easy to watch. I highly recommend it.
The beginning January 5, 2009 This is the first movie done made by the folks at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga. While it doesn't have the glitter and glam of a Hollywood movie it does have something more important, substance. You won't find foul language, nudity or mindless violence here, instead you find what life with and without morals is like. I believe we need more movies like the one put out by the good folks at Sherwood Baptist Church.
Wonderful family film December 29, 2008 Although this was a project completed with a $20,000 budget and lots of volunteers it is an amazing story and film. I have watched it countless times and everytime I enjoy it and learn something from it. It is one of the few movies that I can actually recommend without fear to any family for all ages.
Out Standing! December 28, 2008 Outstanding movie! I have showed this film to several of my friends that are going to show their friends that need to see the life changing power of God when we release our will to Him. Well written and great insight from the writer. Definitely! Inspired by God. Thank you to the writer for such a brilliant film.
A Great Movie With A Great Message December 20, 2008 I am always looking for spiritually healthy movies. This one is that and more. We encourage fellow believers to enjoy films like this and others like it. One new convert stated that watching this movie taught her how to pray better. Her insight blessed my heart.
Flywheel will challenge you to invest more in your family relationships. It challenged me as a dad to spend more time with my family. As christians we know the importance of honesty and integrity, and Flywheel offers many examples of these important principles for day to day living.
Whatever you do, Flywheel will inspire you to really live for Jesus Christ, to yield your life more completely to Him.
