Great Family Board Game! November 30, 2008

This game was highly recommended by my daughter and her boyfriend. They are both in their mid 20's and enjoy board games with a challenge and the versatility to expand the game. The Settlers of Catan is exactly that kind of game. It is entertaining and challenging as you learn different strategies. I also bought the extension game pieces so we can have up to 6 players. This is great game to gather around for family and friends!

I really enjoy playing Settlers of Catan. My friends and I used it to bond. Sometimes strategy wins, sometimes luck wins. Use the expansion pack to expand your circle of friends.

Excellent family game August 8, 2008
Settler's of Catan is a staple in our family. It is unique in that the board changes everytime so your strategy must too. We took it to our larger family beach vacation and everyone who took the time to learn it, loved it. I encourage you to get online and explore the variations - including suggestions for playing with only two players. This is a must-have game for game-lovers, can't say enough about it. Our 8 year old is quite good at it!

Settlers is a great game. The new edition has locking ocean pieces to help keep the board from getting disturbed during game play. The concept is great, but execution is just ok. The pieces don't always seem to fit together correctly and the oceans pieces don't always lay flat after locked together. The board pieces all feel a little more flimsy in this edition compared to 2nd.
