Texas Dreidel is a lot of fun. I purchased the Deluxe Version
of this game which allows eight people to play. Not only did
my friends and family play during Chanukah, we also played on
New Year's Eve. I highly recommend this game.

This review might alienate some...I find this item a bit perverse. For me so, I apologize...it kinda sticks somehow in my throat. Like before you really cry, I feel that.
I am not sure I can breathe well enough to go into it. Wonder why?
I taught my first grade this game yesterday; it's noted a "cultural artifact" in the "Celebrations" unit. I usually make them. But I bought them this year-long story. It did look like the Chumash Casino, sounded like it too.
I started thinking about it. They were remarkably congenial about returning the dough ( play $) after, butterscotches and chocolate coins then fairly divided up, plus returned a wad of fake paper bills so two classes could fit and play.I never, ever saw so much talking, interacting. We actually take classes to get that much social activation working within our teaching English classes. I'm a hero for it I'm told today...okay...bow.
Negative numbers, oh they got that like ...well easily. They kept scores in their head, added mentally, took turns, often reluctantly conceded, tried again, looked out for each other with loans, study of this discourse would write a dissertation. It could be foundational to the neural function of money in the brain, trading, betting and moving things around with chance is fascinating to watch. It intoxicates. It is interesting to see how it affects mood. I watched this thinking the elimination of the jubilee really fouled up lending, but that's another story.
You wonder. The guilt that raised me, the issues around gaming, the rules in my kidhood called SHAME won't fall away you know. I'm lost to proprieties but I never really saw this game as a gambling game. Isn't that ridiculous? Nor have I missed how much the camaraderie of a poker game means to friends of mine, adding I'm lucky in case you want to play. And there are people that have gone insane who I did play just on what I can do to them concerning "tells" alone. When I feel like it, almost never.
I bought this set in a store not realizing what I did.Wasn't needing the poker or Texas piece, I really find it almost too odd. Wear big Ten Gallon Hats? Bandana yarmulke? It was certainly fine in quality though.
Maybe I'll play tonight. I just don't honestly know if I can get it together on this or not. I mostly just liked making the dreidel's before and marveling at such a silly song.
