This is like a trivia game with the excitement of gambling. You learn some unusual facts from playing this game. It comes with little erasable boards and markers; one of the markers was dried up. Once you think of an answer to the trivia qustions, you place your bet with poker chips. We bought this game to play on Thanksgiving and everyone really enjoyed it, so we bought 2 mores games as Christmas gifts.
Wits and Wagers Fun December 15, 2008
I recently bought the game, "Whits and Wagers" for a Thanksgiving
Day 'something to do' after the turkey ... There were only 4 of us and
we had the following thoughts. If you play w/only 4 people, the bank can
collect so many chips that you had better get some out of the attic. We
thought that a minimum of six folks would be better. [Something that is
also stated on the game's packaging.] Otherwise, it was a blast and we
had great fun with it. We were all over 50+ in age and thought it way more fun than Trivial Pursuit. My one other complaint is that I thought it rather pricey and might have purchased it on Half.com, but I enjoyed
it tremendously. It's 4 stars for sure.

I bought this game to play at our family Christmas. We alway try to incorporate some type of game w/ our grab bag gifts. This game was a great hit! Our group's ages ranged from 10yrs to Grandma and everyone had fun. It seems that the bigger the group, the more fun the game is. We found it was more fun having more than 1 person to a team (for more conversation) while trying to have as many teams as possible so there are more answers to choose from. The only complaint I had was only 1 of the dry erase markers worked. Being in a very small town, I wasn't able to buy replacements, so we moved on to Plan B and stuck a post-it note to the card.

I found the game very easy to pick up. The wagering adds a different aspect you don't find in other games. I liked that the games end in 7 rounds(questions), it keeps the games quick.

I play a lot of games. A few of them fall under the "party" category. And Wits & Wagers is the best of them!
When trivia games come off the shelf, half the people are up to the challenge while the other half groan. This game is perfect for both groups. One gets to test their general knowlege on some impossibly hard questions while the other enjoys the bluffing and betting that comes along with selecting the best answer. This is "The Price is Right" meets "Trivial Pursuit" with everyone having a blast.
With 600 questions, the game holds up to repeated plays. We play this game a lot, with a lot of different people. We enjoyed it so much that we made it part of our wedding reception where each table played in their own game. Everyone went away wanting more!
I highly recommend this game for any gatehring. You'll be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't like this game.
