Cant believe I've been missing this December 20, 2008 Love this box, especially with the tunning meter that lets me fine tune stations in. I can't believe I waited this long to switch to digital. I get so many more stations in now and have absolutely no need for cable. I'm a news junkie so now getting in 4, yes 4, distinctive PBS channels is great.

TIVO compatible? December 9, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
We have a Series 2 TIVO that we are told will not accept HD signals from our cable provider after Feb 2009. TIVO customer service told us that by using a digital to analog converter, we can continue to use all the functions built into the TIVO. Has anyone reading this experienced positive results by connecting the two boxes in series with a TV?
Great picture, more channels but audio needs better control. December 8, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I installed the Philco Converter box with analog feed thru. The audio levels vary so wildly between channels, between network feeds and locals and then back to network, between program material and commercials, that something had to be done or you would wear out the volume control on your remote. Since the networks and local stations, the ad agencies and the FCC will not do anything to control these wild audio level swings, you have to buy added equipment to control it for them. Would be very nice if ALL converter boxes came with a Terk VR1 to control these wild audio swings but they do not. The picture is very good on a Standard Def. TV but something needs to be done about the wild audio swings.
The Terk VR1 controller should do it for you. Just install it between the converter box left and right audio output and your TV left and right audio inputs. Feed the digital channel from your video output on your converter box to the video input on your TV or VCR. Adjust your digital viewing to come in on the AUX or Video input. Enjoy.
What a joke December 8, 2008 1 out of 22 found this review helpful
This product may suit those who strictly use an antenna, but note this is not for any kind of cable reception. ALSO BE VERY AWARE OF AMAZON'S NON-RETURNABLE FINE PRINT ON PAGES. THEY DO NOT HAVE A REASON IN MOST CASES, ONLY A SMALL PRINT DISCLAMER. BUYER BEWARE
